Brake shoes. At movement along the damp road it is recommended to press a brake pedal for drying of blocks and brake disks or drums from time to time.

After installation of new brake shoes they have to be earned extra. On the first 200 km of a run it is not recommended to brake needlessly sharply.

Corroded brake disks cause vibration of blocks when braking — they should be replaced.

The vacuum amplifier of brakes reduces effort on a brake pedal, facilitating thereby driving. It works only at the working engine. If the vacuum amplifier is faulty, then for effective braking it will be required to put additional effort to a brake pedal.

Level of brake fluid has to be between tags of "MIN" and "MAX" of a broad tank (fig. 1.58 and 1.59) . At low emergency level the alarm lamp in a combination of devices lights up.

At operation of the car the level of brake fluid gradually decreases with increase in wear of brake shoes. At sharp decrease in level of brake fluid it is necessary to check tightness and a condition of the brake system for service stations of the car.

Brake fluid absorbs moisture which causes corrosion of details of the brake system and reduces a boiling point of brake fluid. At sharp braking it leads to formation of the steam traffic jams reducing operability of system and efficiency of braking. Therefore replacement of brake fluid needs to be made every 2 year. It is recommended to apply the FMVSS 116 DOT 4 brake fluid.

PREVENTIONS 1. It is necessary to replace all brake shoes established on one axis of the car, even in case of extreme wear only of one block. If blocks are repeatedly established, before removal they need to be marked. 2. When braking because of attrition of blocks dust which contains asbestos, unhealthy is formed. Therefore when cleaning brake shoes try to exclude its inhalation. 3. Brake fluid is poisonous and destroys a paint and varnish covering of a body of the car.
