The cars equipped with anti-blocking system of brakes (ABS) can be equipped also with system of electronic blocking of differential (EDS).

The EDS system works constantly in the automatic mode. The control unit of the EDS system receives signals from sensors of frequency of rotation of wheels of the ABS system. At a speed of movement up to 40 km/h the difference of values of frequency of rotation of wheels is eliminated automatically podtormazhivaniy the sliping wheel. At the same time the torque transmitted through differential on other wheel increases.

For optimum work of the EDS system at dispersal correctly choose transfer. On the slippery road (snow or ice) press a pedal of an accelerator smoothly. Despite work of the EDS system, a wheel can revolve and change the direction of the movement of the car.

Fire of an alarm lamp of the ABS system also testifies to malfunction of the EDS system. For maintenance of system it is necessary to address on service station of cars.

At strong heating of brake shoes the EDS system is automatically disconnected — the car continues the movement in the usual mode. The alarm lamp of ABS at the same time does not light up. After cooling of brake shoes the EDS system automatically joins.
