Check
Elimination of the revealed malfunction in system is carried out by method of replacement of faulty blocks by serviceable.
You carry out detection of malfunction in the following order:
– connect the voltmeter or a control lamp 12B between the feeding cable of a glow plug and "weight" (for example, unpainted massive parts of the engine);
– include ignition (work better to carry out with the assistant who will put in action system of prestarting heating by means of the ignition key or opening and the subsequent closing of a door of the driver depending on a design) and check giving of tension from the rechargeable battery to a candle (after the end of the period of heating tension has to will go down to zero).
At the air temperature of 20 °C time intervals of giving of tension to glow plugs have to make 5–6 with at the burning control lamp and 10 with, since the moment when the control lamp goes out. Time of burning of a control lamp increases at fall of temperature and decreases at its increase.
If food to a glow plug does not move, the reason most likely or in failure of the relay of a glow plug (if it is applied in this system), or in malfunction of conducting.
You make replacement of a faulty glow plug in the following order:
disconnect the plug of a "minus" wire from a conclusion of the rechargeable battery;
– disconnect the main feeding cable from a glow plug clip;
– measure by an ohmmeter resistance between a clip of a candle and the plug of a "minus" wire. If the received value is more than several ohms (glow plug resistance approximately equally in 1-1,5 Ohms), the candle is faulty;
connect the ampermeter between the feeding cable of a candle and a candle and measure steady current of consumption, ignoring at the same time initial fluctuation which will be about 50% higher. At high consumption of current or, on the contrary, its total absence the candle is faulty;
– perform visual inspection of a candle (for this purpose the glow plug needs to be removed).

       PREVENTION
In order to avoid a burn do not touch glow plugs if the system of prestarting heating just worked or the engine was switched off recently.

You carry out removal of a glow plug in the following order:
disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery;

you otverntit nuts of fastening and remove washers from a fixing plate of the current tire then remove the current tire (fig. 3.76)

– turn out a glow plug and take it from a head of the block of cylinders (fig. 3.77) . Check a candle for existence of mechanical damages. A large number of a deposit or destruction of a tip of a candle — the testimony of malfunction of a fuel nozzle which is subject to replacement. Similarly perform visual inspection of other candles. If necessary replace faulty fuel nozzles.
Operability of a glow plug can also be checked, giving on it tension of 12 Century. The serviceable glow plug heats up to reddening of a working tip during 5 pages. If heating time more than 5 with or when giving tension heats up the center of a candle, but not its tip, the candle is faulty and is subject to replacement.

Installation of a glow plug is carried out to the sequences, the return to removal. Before installation a carving part of a candle is recommended to be greased with special antiprigarny structure. After a candle nazhivleniye in a carving opening of a head of the block of cylinders tighten it the regulated moment.

       PREVENTION
Observe precautionary measures when checking operability of a glow plug. Hold I shine with a special clip or flat-nose pliers. The electric power-supply circuit of a glow plug has to be supplied with the fuse (fig. 3.78) . After conducting check you do not hurry to establish a candle into place, and let's it be cooled within several minutes.
