Repair Volkswagen Passat B3-B4/Passat B3-B4>> Engines>> Diesel engines>> Replacement of support of the power unit
Carry out removal and installation of a forward support of the engine in the following order:
– disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery;
– establish a jack under the engine and through wooden whetstone raise a jack the engine so that the weight of the engine was perceived by a jack;
– turn out a bolt of fastening of 3
(fig. 3.72)
of a forward support 2 engines;
– remove a starter;
– turn off bolts 4 fastenings of a forward support 2 to the power unit and remove an arm;
– turn out a bolt of the 5th fastening of a support of the engine to a forward beam;
– remove a forward support of the engine;
– you make installation of the removed elements in the sequence, the return to removal.
Tighten all bolts of fastening of a support of the power unit the required moment according to technical characteristics.
Carry out removal and installation of a back right support of the engine in the following order:
– disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery;
– fix the engine slings of the load-lifting mechanism (winch) and raise so that the weight of the engine was perceived by the load-lifting mechanism;
– turn out a coupling bolt 9 (see
fig. 3.72
) the right back support 8 of the engine;
– turn off bolts of 1 fastening of an arm of the right back support of the engine to the block of cylinders;
– turn off bolts of fastening of a back right support of the engine to a body and take a support from a motor compartment;
– you make installation of the removed elements in the sequence, the return to removal;
– tighten all bolts of fastening of a back right support of the engine the required moment according to technical requirements.
Carry out removal and installation of a back left support of the engine in the following order:
– disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery;
– establish a jack under the engine and through wooden whetstone raise a jack the engine so that the weight of the engine was perceived by a jack;
– turn out a bolt of the 7th fastening of a support 6 of the engine;
– turn out a bolt of fastening of a back left support of the engine to the transmission.
– turn out bolts of fastening of an arm of a support of the engine to a body and take a support from a motor compartment;
– you make installation of the removed elements in the sequence, the return to removal.
