Repair Volkswagen Passat B3-B4/Passat B3-B4>> Engines>> Diesel engines>> Oil case

Carry out removal of an oil case in the following order:

– disconnect a wire from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery;

– lift a forward part of the car and establish it on supports;

– for improvement of access to the oil pallet disconnect the right power shaft from the transmission;

– on cars with the AFN engine remove a casing of an oil case (fig. 3.73) ;

– turn off a bolt and remove a protective plate of a flywheel from the transmission. Turn off bolts of fastening 10 (see fig. 3.69 ) the oil pallet 9 to the block of cylinders of 1 engine;

– remove an oil case 9 together with laying. Check a condition of the mesh filter and, if necessary, clear or replace it.

Carry out installation of an oil case in the following order:

– clear the interfaced surfaces of the oil pallet and the block of cylinders of the remains of old laying;

PREVENTION

It is necessary to clear the interfaced surfaces accurately not to scratch them as oil pressure in the working engine can lead to leakages through scratches, zaboina, etc. defects on the interfaced surfaces.

– apply a thin film of sealant on the interfaced surfaces of an oil case and the block of cylinders of the engine;

– establish new laying on an oil case, install an oil case on the engine and fix by bolts, observing an established order and the moments of an inhaling;

You make installation of the removed elements in the sequence, the return to removal.
