General information
For start of the cold engine of model with the diesel engine are equipped with the system of prestarting heating including 4 glow plugs, the control unit of glow plugs and a control lamp of work of system of prestarting heating.
The glow plug representing the electric heating element executed in the metal case with the probe on one end and electric connection on another is installed in each vortex camera. During the work of a candle there is a heating
the given fuel to optimal-
ache burning temperatures. Giving
tension to glow plugs it is controlled by a diesel electronic control unit of system of injection of fuel (ECU). Period of operation of candles of an incandescence (heating period)
it is regulated by the control unit (ECU) which controls engine temperature via the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid and changes heating time to improve operating conditions of the engine. Control
lamp of system prestarting under -
the greva in the dashboard dies away after the end of heating, however tension to glow plugs continues to move until launch of the engine. If there is no attempt of launch of the engine, tension is disconnected from candles of an incandescence.
After launch of the engine of a glow plug continue to work still some time that promotes improvement of combustion of fuel at warming up of the engine and allows to reduce emission of the fulfilled gases.
The system of prestarting heating of the diesel engine joins at turn of the ignition key in situation "II". However on cars with AAZ engines the system of the prestarting engine joins after opening and the subsequent closing of a door of the driver.
Control unit of glow plugs
On engines 1Z, AHU and AFN predpuskovy heating is operated by ECU.
On early models the control unit of prestarting heating of the diesel engine is located under the dashboard over the main block of the relay. For access to the control unit of glow plugs remove the corresponding sections of finishing of the dashboard.
On late models the control unit of glow plugs is located in a motor compartment near a washer reservoir

You carry out removal of the block in the following order:
– disconnect wires from the negative plug of the rechargeable battery;
– disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the control unit;
– unscrew fixing screws and, having raised, take the control unit from an arm.
You carry out installation of the control unit to the sequences, the return to removal.
