remove the wheel brake cylinder ( fig. 12.12 ) and disconnect it from a brake hose. To avoid loss of brake fluid and hit of dirt in a hose, muffle it a stopper.
You carry out dismantling and assembly of the wheel cylinder of the back brake mechanism in the following order:
If the wheel brake cylinder is not subject to replacement, it can be disassembled without preliminary removal. Previously remove brake shoes. Replacement of the wheel cylinder is necessary if the piston in the cylinder has the complicated course or at on it there are characteristic flutes or traces of corrosion that has an adverse effect on work of brakes.
clear the external surface of the brake cylinder. Remove dustproof covers from the ends of the cylinder;
take from the brake cylinder both pistons with cuffs;
take a spring from the brake cylinder and wash out details in pure brake fluid. Check a condition of pistons and the brake cylinder for wear, corrosion and other defects;
establish cuffs on the piston so that working edges of consolidation were turned in the direction of pressure of brake fluid;
insert the left piston into the wheel cylinder;
insert a spring on the right, unscrew the union of pumping and insert the second piston;
establish dustproof caps.
You carry out installation of the wheel cylinder of the back brake mechanism in the following order:
wipe a brake board and remove a stopper from a brake hose;
screw the brake cylinder on a brake hose and install the cylinder on a brake board;
fix the cylinder by bolts;
establish brake shoes and the brake drum;
remove a clip from a brake hose;
remove air from the brake system. At the same time, as a rule, it is enough to pump over only that cylinder which was subject to replacement;
to adjust back brake mechanisms with a force press a brake pedal.
