For adjustment of an axial side play of a main shaft use a special template and fixing arms (fig. 8.41, 8.42) or ask for the help specialists of specialized service station.

You carry out installation of an axial side play of a main shaft in the following order:

press a ring of the conic bearing in a coupling/differential case;

establish a main shaft in a coupling/differential case;

establish a case of the transmission and tighten bolts of its fastening the moment of 25 N · m;

having pressed a main shaft to a template a micrometer with a preliminary tightness, check value of an axial side play (see fig. 8.41 );

proceeding from value of an axial side play pick up the corresponding laying to provide the required axial side play of a main shaft;

dismantle a case of the transmission and take a main shaft;

take an external ring of the bearing, establish the selected laying then again establish an external ring;

establish a main shaft;

establish a case of the transmission and tighten bolts of its fastening the moment of 25 N · m;

several times turn a main shaft to achieve exact installation of bearings;

repeatedly check an axial side play. The gap of the bearing has to be within 0,01 — 0,12 mm.
