Fig. 8.3. Marking of the transmission (1) and type of the transmission (2)

The transmission changes the torque transferred from the engine in size and the direction. In cars are used 4-or 5-staged mechanical 02A transmissions. The transmission and the main transfer together with differential (fig. 8.1) are located in a separate case and fasten bolts to the block of cylinders of the engine. The arrangement of forks of gear shifting with couplings is shown in fig. 8.2 . Lubricant of the transmission is carried out irrespective of the engine. Depending on design of the engine and the car the corresponding marking (fig. 8.3) is applied on the transmission . The mechanism of gear shifting has the hummock drive. At such type of the drive less vibration is transferred to the lever of gear shifting, and vibration of units does not exert impact on gear shifting. According to it noise level, transmitted through gear wheels, is rather low. One more feature of the hummock drive of the mechanism of gear shifting is that the switching mechanism practically does not demand leaving. At inclusion of transfer there is a choice between the cross movement (the movement of the choice of transfers) to positions of idling and actually the movement of switching. Both movements, everyone through the cable of switching, are transferred to a shaft of the mechanism of switching of the transmission. At the same time the cable of gear shifting rotates a switching shaft around own axis while the cable of the choice of transfers via the bypass lever, changes the provision of a shaft of switching along an axis.
