You make replacement of brushes of the generator, without removing the generator from the engine.

You make replacement of brushes in the following order:

– disconnect a "minus" wire from the plug of the rechargeable battery;

– unscrew screws with crosswise vents, the fixing brush holder and the regulator of tension ( fig. 15.13 and 15.14 ) on a back part of the generator ( fig. 15.15 );

– take the brush holder and the regulator of tension, at the same time turning it ( fig. 15.16 );

– check length of graphite brushes which has to be not less than 5 mm ( fig. 15.17 and 15.18 );

– for replacement of coal brushes it is necessary to unsolder tokopodvoda, to take worn-out brushes and springs, to establish new brushes with springs in a nest of the regulator and to solder токоподвод so that length of brushes made 10 mm. At the soldering not to allow hit of solder on токоподвод, except places of the soldering;

– check ease of movement of brushes in the holder;

– clear contact rings of the generator the fabric which is slightly moistened in white spirit and check rings for wear and damages;

– be convinced that each brush moves in a nest smoothly and without jammings.

Installation it is made in the sequence, the return to removal.
