15.6.2. Main malfunctions of a starter

On cars starters from 0,9 kW can be applied to the 1,6 l petrol engines, to 1,7 kW — to diesel engines with a turbocompressor of the Bosh brand of the DM or DW type (with the lowering reducer).

You make removal of a starter in the following order:

– disconnect a "minus" wire from the plug of the rechargeable battery;

– note an arrangement of wires on the traction relay 11 ( fig. 15.19 ) a starter then disconnect them;

– you will hang out and record a forward part of the car on basic racks;

– as the forward support is also fixed by a bolt of fastening of a starter, support the power unit from below by a jack or the winch;

– turn off bolts and remove a starter.

You carry out installation of a starter to the sequences, the return to removal.
