Repair Volkswagen Passat B3-B4/Passat B3-B4>> Body>> Central console In a forward part of the central console on cars with the mechanical transmission or automatic transmission the gear shifting lever cover fastens.
To remove average section, at first remove the handle and a casing from the lever of the parking brake.
To remove the handle 3 (
fig. 16.56
), remove lock plates 2 in the lower part of the handle.
For dismantle of back part 1 (
fig. 16.57
) the central console get an ashtray and unscrew two screws which are under an ashtray. Do not forget to disconnect an ashtray illumination wire connector.
Press latches in a forward part of the central console and give the central console on yourself.
Carry out installation upside-down.
Make sure that the guide 2 (
fig. 16.58
) from the inside of the central console comes on the T-shaped adjusting pin 1. A forward part of the central console is fixed on pins 1 (
fig. 16.59
) and fastens nuts and screws.
At dismantle of the central console disconnect the conducting sockets which are under the central console.
