You carry out assembly and installation of a steering column to the sequences, the return to removal, considering the next moments.

At assembly of the top end of a steering shaft squeeze laying of a clip of a spring on a shaft so that the spring was completely compressed.

Make sure that the steering shaft is normally exposed in relation to the case of a steering column, at the same time the small ledge on the helmsman to a shaft has to be combined with an opening on the case of a steering column (fig. 11.8) . If necessary extend a steering shaft to the limiter.

For installation of a new steering wheel on the car of early release it is necessary to put on by means of a nut of fastening of a steering wheel a shlitsevy part of a steering column the transitional plug (the additional spare part). At the same time it is necessary to screw a nut until the end of a carving.

Turn off a nut, establish a washer 3 mm thick (the additional spare part) and finally tighten the transitional plug a nut of a steering wheel (see fig. 11.2 ).

Put the ignition lock on a steering column.

Tighten bolts and nuts the required moment.

When replacing a steering wheel be convinced that the gap between a surface of a nave of a steering wheel and the switch on a steering column makes 2–4 mm (fig. 11.9) .
