Depending on a complete set cars can be equipped with mechanical steering or management with the hydraulic booster. Since 1992, steering with the hydraulic booster is established serially. In a design the steering shesternyareyka mechanism is used. A steering column — telescopic type with adjustment of a departure and (or) inclination.

Steering consists of a steering wheel of 1, 2 or 3 (fig. 11.1) , a steering column, the mechanism of steering and cross steering drafts 12. The steering wheel is fixed on a steering column and transfers effort to tooth rack gearing. The gear lath of the steering mechanism from each party is connected to cross steering draft by means of the spherical hinge. Steering drafts transmit effort through steering rod ends and rotary fists to forward wheels. Rack steering possesses the easy course and has no side plays at rotation of a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop. Steering practically does not demand service, however it is necessary to check constantly a condition of protective covers of spherical hinges.
As it was specified, on some cars the steering option with a possibility of adjustment of provision of a steering wheel on height can be applied. When moving of the operating lever the steering column is released. Under the influence of a spring the steering wheel is established in the highest position. At the extended operating lever the steering wheel can be established manually in five provisions, various on height. For fixing of a steering wheel it is necessary to release the operating lever. The system of installation of a steering wheel on height does not demand maintenance.
On some models the hydraulic amplifier of steering can be installed. It consists of the oil pump, a broad tank and oil pipelines. The oil pump is put in action through maple a belt. The pump gives oil from a tank under big pressure to the valve located in the steering mechanism. The valve is mechanically connected to shaft of steering and gives oil depending on turn of a steering wheel to the relevant party of the working cylinder. Oil presses on the piston of a gear lath and at the expense of it supports the movement of a steering wheel. At the same time the piston pushes out oil on the other side of the working cylinder via the returnable pipeline back in a broad tank.
On cars with the diesel engine and (or) the air conditioning system the contour of cooling of working liquid of the hydraulic booster executed in the form of the pipeline laid along a modular beam of the forward bridge is provided.
