Liquid level in the steering mechanism with the amplifier is checked at the provision of the wheels established in situation "movement directly forward" and the working engine.

Make sure that liquid level is in a tank between the tags "Max" and "Min". If necessary bring liquid level to norm.

On the cars manufactured till February, 1989 in system of the steering drive with the amplifier ATF liquid is used. On later models hydraulic oil is applied. When refueling system it is desirable to use the same liquid or oil which were already filled in in system.

You make replacement in the following order:

– disconnect the soaking-up hose on the pump and merge liquid in a container;

– at plum of liquid turn a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop to remove as much as possible liquid;

– after the end of discharge of liquid repeatedly connect the soaking-up hose to the pump then fill a tank to the upper edge with new liquid;

– several times start and switch off the engine that will allow to fill system quicker;

– check the level of liquid and continue to add liquid in process of reduction of level in a tank;

– when the level of liquid is stabilized, launch the engine and let's it work on idling turns;

– turn a steering wheel several times from an emphasis against the stop, without leaving a steering wheel in extreme situation not to create the maximum pressure in system;

– check liquid level in a tank, and in case of need add liquid to a tank to the tag "Max";

– after stabilization of level of liquid in a tank and absence in liquid of air bubbles, switch off the engine and establish a cover on a tank.

After an engine stop the level of liquid has to increase slightly.
