Excepting the all-wheel drive version (Sincro), the VW Passat cars have a back suspension bracket with partially connected levers and the correcting rubber-metal plugs. The basis of a back suspension bracket is the V-shaped beam. Depending on the power of the engine installed on the car, in a back suspension bracket the stabilizer of cross stability can be installed. But even without stabilizer, the back beam performs its functions, reducing car lists on turns. Levers 2 are welded on a beam from two parties ( fig. 10.17 ). The beam fastens to a body via rubber-metal plugs 3. The special form of plugs and their adjusting situation positively influence behavior of the car. When passing turns of the plug correct the shift of a trace and obstruct own traffic of a back axis. Depreciation of a back suspension bracket is carried out by two damping racks 1.
All-wheel drive cars have a back suspension bracket with inclined levers.

       PREVENTION
Welding and leveling works on the bearing elements of a back suspension bracket are inadmissible.
