The internal hinge of equal angular speeds is not under repair and in case of failure is subject to replacement entirely.

You carry out removal of the internal hinge in the following order:

– fix a shaft in a vice with slips from soft metal;

– using special nippers for removal of spring lock rings, remove a lock ring from the end of a shaft (fig. 9.2) ;

– by means of a mandrel bring down a mud-reflector from the hinge (fig. 9.3) . The mandrel needs to be established serially in various points on cap perimeter for its uniform removal;

– move an antisplash cover on the middle of a shaft;

– fix the internal hinge in a vice and take from it a shaft. If the power shaft does not manage to be taken, install the hinge under a press and, using VW 402 and VW 408a devices, squeeze out from it a shaft (fig. 9.4) ;

– remove a dish-shaped spring washer from a shaft of the drive of wheels, previously having noted its situation. The washer has vents, and its convex party is located from the hinge.

You carry out installation of the internal hinge in the following order:

– before installation of the new hinge carefully clear a power shaft;

– establish a spring dish-shaped washer on a shaft so that the convex party of a washer was from the hinge, and internal vents of a washer were combined with shaft vents;

– fix internal in a vice with soft sponges and insert into it a power shaft. In case the shaft does not enter the hinge, press the hinge on a shaft by means of a press (at the same time the shaft from below has to lean on a support) (fig. 9.5) ;

– establish a new spring lock ring in a flute of a power shaft;

fill the internal hinge of 120 g of lubricant, and, put a half of lubricant in the hinge on the one hand, and a half – with another;

– establish into place an antisplash cover. Before fastening of an antisplash cover collars, the screw-driver raise an inner edge of a cover for alignment of pressure of air under a cover;

– at installation of the internal hinge on left driving to a shaft note by means of an adhesive tape or paint distance equal 17 mm (fig. 9.6) ;

– at installation of an antisplash cover on the right shaft of the drive of wheels install the lock-chamber "A" (fig. 9.7) on a thick tubular part of a shaft.

PREVENTION At cars with engines, starting with 66 kW (90 h.p.), on the hinge additional consolidation is established.
