Repair Volkswagen Passat B3-B4/Passat B3-B4>> Suspension brackets>> Forward suspension bracket>> Bearing of a forward wheel Malfunction of the bearing of a forward wheel is shown by noise on abrupt turns and the complicated wheel provorachivaniye.
Removal of the bearing is made in the following order:
– remove a rotary fist from the car;
– unscrew the screw with a crosswise head and remove a brake disk;
– turn off bolts of fastening and remove a protective plate of a brake disk;
– establish a rotary fist with a nave under a press and, using a tubular mandrel of the corresponding diameter, a vypressuyta a nave. In the presence of a stripper with two captures, fix a rotary fist in a vice and squeeze out a nave

– using a stripper, take an internal ring of the bearing from a nave
(fig. 10.8)

– take lock rings
(fig. 10.9)
and a vypressuyta the bearing, and, arrange a rotary fist on a table of a press a fixing fillet up;
– on models remove a gear rotor from ABS the speed sensor.
Installation of the bearing
Installation is made in the following order:
– clear a bearing nest in a rotary fist;
– establish from the inside of a rotary fist a lock ring a nickname subthorn;
– grease from the outer side of a rotary fist a nest for the bearing with jellied lubricant;
– establish a rotary fist under a press and press the bearing from the outer side in (
fig. 10.10
);
– under a rotary fist enclose strong laying;
– press the bearing until it does not rest against a lock ring;
– if for installation of the bearing the tubular mandrel is used, check that its diameter corresponded to diameter of an external ring of the bearing;
– establish the second lock ring and check that it completely entered a flute;
– press a nave. For this purpose establish an internal ring of the bearing installed in a rotary fist on a tubular mandrel and press a nave in the bearing (
fig. 10.11
);
– establish a gear rotor of the ABS sensor on a nave, then insert a nave into a rotary fist;
– establish a protective plate of a brake disk and a brake disk;
– establish a rotary fist;
– lower the car on the earth;
– tighten a nut of a power shaft the required moment;
– lift a jack a forward part of the car so that forward wheels came off the earth and, rotating manually wheels, check that they had a free wheeling and had no side side play.
